ABOUT JORDAAN VELLIES
Jordaan Vellies originated as a story or a dream shared between three friends on a hot summer afternoon at a Stellenbosch wine farm. This dream was to bring a veld shoe that speaks to our deep love for rugby to South Africans. The dream took shape and became a reality after years of hard work and dedication.

Over time we saw that the ‘Jordaan’ was not only closely tied to South African rugby fanaticism, but it became a symbol for all South Africans’ love for all sport. It became a shoe that is ‘For the Fans.’

Our design marries a typical veldskoen shape and texture, with a more modern look. It has cleaner lines, softer leather and of course the trademark ‘rugby mannetjie.’
​
It is our dream as founders of Jordaan Vellies to see our shoes at every South African Stadium, on the sidelines of every school match, in every bar, and to be frank, wherever your heart desires. Take your Jordaan Vellies wherever your support, passion and dedication is needed most.
OUR FOUNDERS
Our founders are all Stellenbosch University graduates. For 4 years we found ourselves immersed in a town with a rich rugby history. This is where we originated and fell in love with the idea for what would become ‘Jordaan Vellies.’

While we aren’t artisans ourselves, we put careful care and consideration in every component that makes our final product. Every choice was made with you in mind.

And so we hope you will join our team. Every Jordaan Vellies shoe that joins the stands, the crowds and the sidelines becomes a building block. Every wearer becomes a founder, and every founder, a fan.
